I am the first to admit that I highly dislike (emphasize the word “highly”) to Google things to do in Toronto, especially during the holidays. The struggle of finding something fun to do for a day/night out seems impossible when you are trying to avoid the classics such as the CN Tower and Niagara Falls. Here is our take on the must see places in Toronto for New Years that will guarantee a great time for everyone. Book early as these places will get super busy!
♦ The Nutcracker: My personal favourite is seeing the stage come to life with principal dancers, gorgeous costumes, and music that can only be described as goose bumps worthy. This is a splurge event but it is a night where its worth it to dress up and do something out of your comfort zone.

♦ Second City: Are you ready for an evening of laughs? Second City puts some of the most hilarious comedy shows I have ever been to. Put binge watching Kevin Hart comedy shows on Netflix aside and give Second City a try. Located in the heart of Downtown Toronto, grab a beer and enjoy the show for the New Year’s special.

♦ CHILL Ice House: Although I have never visited this location, it seems like the perfect night out idea with friends. With -4 degrees C, you are provided with a very warm jacket and mittens and you are welcome to order your drinks, observe the ice sculptures, and most importantly be surrounded with amenities (e.g. the bar) made entirely of ice.

♦ Trapped: This is yet another one of my favourites. After selecting a theme for your experience such as The Hang Over or the Da Vinci Code, your team gets locked in a room. The objective is to piece all the clues, riddles, and puzzles together in order to unlock the next room. You have one hour to solve the mystery. Does this sound awesome or what?

♦ Ripley’s Aquarium: This aquarium really does live up to its fame in Toronto. With exotic fish, interactive displays, and of course the famous escalator which moves through the aquarium, it is not a typical experience, in fact it is enjoyable for everyone (money well spent).

♦ Nathan Phillips Square: Watch the fireworks while enjoying some live music, food, and skating in the heart of Toronto. This is a free event that is widely popular in Toronto. Although hundreds of people come out to celebrate and the streets get crowded, this is the key spot for those midnight fireworks.
