I am the first to admit to having an uncontrollable holiday sweet-tooth especially when all the goodies go on sale after the holidays. This is my season to splurge on candy and then work relentlessly at the gym afterwards. However, I found an alternative – homemade cookies where you know the ingredients going in and of course they are a must for any holiday themed party. Here are my tips and tricks.
Preparation: 20min | Bake: 15min | Difficulty level: Medium | Serving: 10
1 egg | 1/3 cup vegetable oil | 3 apples | 1 teaspoon vanilla extract | 2 cups al purpose flour | 1/2 cup walnuts | 3/4 teaspoon baking soda | 1/2 teaspoon baking powder | 1/2 teaspoon salt | 3/4 cup chocolate chips | 1 teaspoon cinnamon
♦ Dry ingredients: in a different bowl, stir flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, chocolate chips and the walnuts.
♦ Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until well blended.
♦ Using two spoons, create small circles on the baking sheet. Make sure they are well spaced out. Bake at 350C for 20 min or until golden brown.
Voila, your holiday themed cookies are ready for the party!
