Christmas Cookie Recipe for your Holiday Sweet-tooth

I am the first to admit to having an uncontrollable holiday sweet-tooth especially when all the goodies go on sale after the holidays. This is my season to splurge on candy and then work relentlessly at the gym afterwards. However, I found an alternative – homemade cookies where you know the ingredients going in and of course they are a must for any holiday themed party. Here are my tips and tricks.

Preparation: 20min | Bake: 15min | Difficulty level: Medium | Serving: 10

Ingredients:

egg | 1/3 cup vegetable oil | apples | 1 teaspoon vanilla extract | 2 cups al purpose flour | 1/2 cup walnuts | 3/4 teaspoon baking soda | 1/2 teaspoon baking powder | 1/2 teaspoon salt | 3/4 cup chocolate chips | 1 teaspoon cinnamon

♦ Beat: egg, oil, and sugar until smooth. Cut the apples into small cubes and add them into the mixture with the vanilla extract until well blended.

♦ Dry ingredients: in a different bowl, stir flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, chocolate chips and the walnuts.

♦ Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until well blended.

♦ Using two spoons, create small circles on the baking sheet. Make sure they are well spaced out. Bake at 350C for 20 min or until golden brown.

Voila, your holiday themed cookies are ready for the party!

What is your holiday go to recipe?

  1. Oh wow, these look SO good! They look so soft and chewy! I have the same problem as you around the Holidays… I just can’t control my sweet tooth anymore! I like how you bake your own goodies though so you know exactly what’s in them 🙂 That’s one of the main reasons I love cooking so much! Plus, home made just tastes better. Happy holidays lovely! I hope you’re able to indulge in your favorite treats and relax, surrounded by your friends and family!
