What do you do when you’re stressed out or so busy you can barely focus on what you’re doing? A lot people seem to not be able to function in this state and fall back on a multitude of coping mechanisms. My personal coping mechanism during extremely stressful weeks (like exam times) used to very detrimental to my GPA because instead of studying, I used to either binge-watch a new TV show the night before an exam, stay up late reading really lame historical romances or watch several 90’s rom coms that would leave me exhausted and really angry with myself the next day. The stress of doing well or the impending work left me in a state of paralysis where I didn’t even bother trying and instead did irrational things that provide short-term gratification. However, this year has been different for me. Because not only have I learnt to properly time manage and use an agenda/calendar effectively, but I’ve also begun making lists! Lists are the best stress relievers for busy people and the joy of ticking off a check box beside an item on your list is incomparable.
Start small and use some beautiful stationery you love because that ensures that you’ll keep doing it. Slowly it will become a habit and eventually you will be time-managing like a pro with zero (or minimal) stress!
Until next time,
